Update Already!

Listening to: Utada Hikaru - Merry Xmas Mr. Lawrence - FYI
Feeling: Troubled

It's been such a long time since I've updated my blog. Many things happened like Operation Dream House Pink Walls being starting, went to Bangkok for the first time, started saving for Japan for real and changing jobs.

I know changing job
s at this point of time might seem silly because Bintang is of course a much more stable place, but I cannot take it anymore! It's just super complacent there. I do my work for the week and waiting for another assignment. I feel like I'm gonna be kicked out of the department at someone's whim.

Working on my gut feeling, I took on another job offer a
s a copywriter and left.

With three week
s of leave, I thought I can bum around but boy was I ever so wrong. With a few freelance jobs under my belt, I felt as thought I was doing more than I was at The Bintang. But it's extra income so I'm not complaining.

Been
soul searching whenever I had free time. Not that I had much, but I did.

Realized that friend
s are not what they seem to be.

Realized that there i
s money to be earned everywhere but do you have the time and stamina to get them all?

Realized that one per
son's heaven is another person's hell.

And al
so, most importantly, what is money compared to having the time to spend with my godson?

Thi
s three week holiday did me good and without realizing it, I'm starting work this Monday. I am super glad I made some time to go swimming with baby Caden before Cin and family left for Australia.

That boy i
s gonna grow up to be a super heartbreaker!

I have yet another BFP
shoot tomorrow. Hurt my leg during my Bukit Tabur climb (dramatic drumroll please) when I rolled down on the trek down. Will write about that later. It's 4.30 in the morning and I have to be at BU around 10am~!

Meanwhile, ju
st wanna show off that I got 100% for my Japanese Beginner 1 exam!

More tomorrow~

Just for the sake of updating...

1. I prefer soft pastel pink to just pink.

2. I will drive the extra mile to get to Burger King.

3. My obsession with manga started off with Dragon Ball but somehow I am not too excited to watch the movie version of it.

4. I don't like watching TV.

5. I have a few books waiting to be written.

6. I wish I am connected to the internet 24/7.

7. I wish I have every gadget in the world in my pocket ala Doraemon.

8. Diamonds make me go a little weak in the knees.

9. Pumpkin rawks!

10. I wish to buy a house for my own and convert one of the rooms into a library (with floor length bookshelves please) filled with manga on one side and books on the other. Another room will be turned into a pink shrine.

11. My biological clock is ticking. Just so you know....

12. I love cooking without the veggie peeling and prep work. And I think I can be a pretty darn good cook.

13. I am Japanese in my past live.

14. I don't wake up until after 2pm.

15. I love playing mahjong and can go on and on like a freaking Energizer bunny.

16. I love my family and wish we can be a little more abnormal (like the Addams family or something)

17. I believe in all Chinese hocus pocus.

18. I am low maintenance.I don't eat seafood and buy expensive clothes. I just want to travel the world.

19. I have so much junk in my room I probably need a month to clear it up.

20. I get annoyed when people are repetitive.

21. My dream house has pink walls and an island kitchen with an in-built oven. And (read no.10)

22. I smoke too much for my own good.

23. I only own 6 pairs of shoes. 2 pairs of sneakers, 3 pairs of highheels and 1 pair of flats. Out of the 6, I only wear the flats. EVERY SINGLE DAY! And out of the 6, I only bought 2 of them.

24. I am taking Japanese language class to prepare myself for my homecoming to Japan, where I am SUPPOSED to be born in.

25. I wish I can go on a holiday with my whole family.

Listening to: Bee Gees - Melody Fair
Feeling: Pensive

Tools of the trade

There are times when I wonder I'm doing the right thing. Am I supposed to be writing or will I do better in sales, advertising, banking, events or branding? But ever since I joined Bintang, I feel like I am on the right track. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Meme x 2

Listening to: Ashley Simpson - Just let me cry
Feeling: Lighter...

In my first of many post that I hope to come after this, is a Meme from His Majesty DramaQ himself. I feel obliged to answer as my one and only reader demands... Here you go...

5 Things Things You Didn't Know About Pink

Pink is a horder
In her recent cleaning craze, she cleared out half the room and garbage bags that was accumulated = 13 bags. Useless stuff like old magazines, mangas she bought out of boredom and didn't like were the main victims.

Pink thinks deep thoughts
Well, the operative word here is 'thinks'. Usually topics like global warming and politics gets time during tea with Seems, gets wiki-ed the moment she gets home and promptly forgets within the next ten minutes... Well, like they all say, it's the thoughts that counts!

Pink likes doing the homely stuff
Like knitting, cross stitching, beading and baking. For those who thinks she can't cook to save her life, know that she's not doing it only because she is lazy.

Pink is a typical Gemini
Geminians are two faced people. Just like how Pink can be a cheerful girl in front of her friends, she can be a grumpy bitch at home. Or how she can be spouting typical dumb blonde comments and make insightful ones in her next sentence... Yeah.. two faced, multi faceted, whatever.

Pink falls asleep within a second
That's why she only sleep real late because she thinks rolling around in bed is a waste of time. Therefore she waits till she is super sleepy before going to bed.

Part 2.

1 Which feature do you zoom in on when you meet a guy for the first time?
His smile.. Have to be happy ma.. if not how to counter my super mood swings? I love a deep voice and laugh too!!

2. Who is your role model?
My mom for her patience, Seems because she is just so super, Ange Jolie for being a hot mamma

3. What's the healthiest thing you would eat among sushi, salad and sandwich?
Sushi please!

4. Which movie you can watch again and again?
Sound of Music. (DAMN RIGHT!)

5. Three gadgets that you can't live without?
Laptop, phone, PsP

6. What is your most annoying habit?
Bursting into a song whenever and whereever...

7. What's one thing you're glad you've outgrown?
Insecurity about my size...

8. I get nervous when...
Deadline's looming or money running short.

9. My biggest fear is...
Being without a job

10.The best thing I've done for myself is...
Cleaning out my room

11. Pass this meme to 6 people.
I shall spare a million people from doing this and end it here!

Of more good things to come...

Listening to: Taylor Swift - Teardrops on my guitar
Feeling: Wanna get back to my psp

If anyone actually noticed, I have not been updating my blog. Well, please blame Miss Jodi Picoult who writes the most fantastic courtroom dramas. And also Monster Hunter Freedom and Patapon on PsP... It's so damn unbelievably evil. I am not even watching anime on crunchyroll.com anymore and had been sleeping close to 4am everyday (Yes, even on working days)

I am also obsessed with Taylor Swift's Teardrops On My Guitar. It's so damn emo and it's on repeat. Like for the past hour... Crap... gotta switch to another song soon before I sing it in my sleep...

Just got back from drinks with Jye, Fun and Drama. I am so going to Japan next year! Gotta save up and cut down on food cause apparently the toilets in the hotel is so small. I won't be able to squeeze my fat ass onto the throne if I continue eating like a normal person, so therefore, I have to diligently spend more time in the gym.

Well, speaking of the gym, I skipped a week's worth. I HAVE TO GO BACKKKKK... Getting so damn lazy if you know what I mean...

Loads of happenings this one whole month. Neglected my blog so much really because of my brand spanking new pink PsP.. *hearts*

Chinese New Year came and went... Actually one of the best CNYs I ever had. Drove down from Hometown on the first day to celebrate Fun's bday at Skybar. It was pretty funny cause we tried surprising her. I guess we half succeeded when she stared at us blur-ly and gawked. I told her that me and Sarah N decided to go back to our hometowns.

Drinks and such

Couldn't get better pictures because we all forgot to bring our cameras, so pardon the graininess...

Back to the CNY action, me and sis got all glammed up for the First Day of CNY Obligated Ang Pau Collection Trip.
CNY
Hotness! It was boiling in Hometown...

Hometown was boring, no kakis to go for mamak talkcock sessions with. Ciggies have to be smoked in secrecy (as in, drive out to the nearest secluded area for a puff). Everyday is filled with eating, sleeping and psp gaming (that I didn't mind) but I felt so damn fresh after my long holiday. It was just heavenly!

Idiot bro
Bro being an idiot as usual

Got back to the office with fresh minds, only to be stressed out again within the next half an hour. Oh well, that's just the way work is...

And then this car drove up to our office... Just had to snap a picture of it cause it's just too cool...

Miss Boss
Miss Boss and it's the initials of my managing editor, Boss

We did a flower shoot for one of our issues and omg.. so pretty! One of my favourites... It's pink tulips with white pretty flowers. We got to keep it after the shoot and for the first time in three years, I have fresh flowers on my table!

Flowers2
It lasted for 3 days, longer than what I had expected! Love love love them!

Flowers1
I wish I can have this once a week!

Have I ever mentioned that I have a new Love?

Dino
That's my new love of my life, Dino... He's mighty pleased with his new home

Me and Seems had also started going on this fitness ritual we try to keep every week. We bring Dino to the Taman Tun park every Sunday for walks. It's a beautiful shaded park that is pet friendly. Dino loves it!

Dino
We bring Dino out for walks when me and Seems can wake up on Sundays

The dog goes wild there while me and Seems try not to pass out from the heat.

Chill
It's super hard work ok, walking the dog...

Apart from that... I recently went to Crystal Jade's restaurant food review.

Fin's soup
Crazy expensive shark's fin soup that is crazy good... see the WHOLE pieces of fin floating in the soup?

It might not look it, but that bowl (like your ordinary rice bowls la) is almost RM120 each. I know how some people is against shark's fin but really, I have to give that one bowl a try. It's superior sharks fin in shark bone soup. Yummy as hell and the fins are in strips... Like, ONE whole strip contains all that tiny bits of sharks fin in one HUGE bowl of soup you have in your Chinese ten course dinners. I had never had anything like that in my life! Damn sinful ok... We had almost a 20 course lunch that day. Pink went back to the office a happy girl that day.

I swear and pledge not to have sharks fin soup for my wedding dinner. I enough of sharks fin from that lunch to last me a whole lifetime!

More to update soon... Need to sleep before the sun rises!

This is so wrong!!!!

What Lum Yi Hwa Means

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.
You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.
Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.
And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.
You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in.
You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising.
You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.
Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are very charming... dangerously so. You have the potential to break a lot of hearts.
You know how what you want, how to get it, and that you will get it.
You have the power to rule the world. Let's hope you're a benevolent dictator!

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

Update v1.o

Listening to: Random Christmas carols
Feeling: Like I'm on leave!!!

It has been a crazy month of cupcakes and headaches I tell you... But FINALLY I'm getting my well deserved (or so I think) break... Handed in the last of my pending work yesterday and when I woke up today it was Just Heavenly.. hehehe

Feels like Cinderella's dress is not as happening as we thought it would be

Zoey-poo camwhoring at the back of my car on the way to Heritage Mansion

Then while picking up cupcakes from Cuppacakes one day... I had this urge to go check out my old house. Drama, remember those days when we ran wild and free on this field? It used to look so big and now it's looking kinda bald... why???

field3
This used to be my playground...

field
The trees are balding... A sure sign to say that I'm getting older too!

And while I'm at it I decided to visit my primary school too.. It's so weird that back then it seemed so far away from my house to the school.. it's like a 5 minute walk. Well, short legs and all...

oldschool3

oldschool2
We didn't have this back then... Kids nowadays...

Brought back many bittersweet memories.. It's so weird that the school compound seemed so much bigger when I was 10.

In other news... I was invited to my first ever kiddy party... My boss's kid is so damn cute!!! Didn't manage to take a picture of the birthday girl because she couldn't sit still for 0.005 seconds...

bumblebee
The cutest bumblebee ever!

That's all for today... more to come hopefully... starfuck's connection sucks today and I keep getting disconnected... Thinking of doing a movie marathon soon! Weeee~

While everyone's out...

Listening to: Hugh Grant & Drew Barrymore - Way Back Into Love
Feeling: Some strains of the tummy flu

It's such a holiday day at the office today! It's already 2.10 and no one's in the office so I decided to blog a little.

Icecream
This is what me and SarahN bought from the Japanese grocery shop in Plaza Damas! SUTEKI!

I wish I had finished my columns so I can go out and enjoy without worrying about work. It's pretty stressful nowadays and it's so weird that I am feeling so calm and ignorant about everything! I have 6 more columns to write and deadline's on the 1st!!! T.T

OK, forget about that! *denial mode~~*

We went to The Apartment that day.

Don't ask 'Whose apartment' la cause it's a new concept cafe/bar thingy at The Curve. It's BEAUTIFUL!

Pavlova
We had the Pavlova with Peaches, Strawberries and Cream.. Delish!

Me, Nini and Fun devoured this within seconds after taking a thousand and one pictures with it. This one above was taken with my crappy camera on my phone :( gomen for the bad quality... Still waiting for pictures from Nini...

And then one weekend we were at this really funky place at Bangsar. Club66 or Club88 something like that for a taping of Rexona No Sweat Challenge to support Trinity, Fun's friend. It was a dance challenge and it was the finals when we got there. Totally amazing stuff, I really had no idea that we have such fantastic talented people here in Malaysia. Trinity had danced backup for artists such as SHE and Jolin Tsai just to name a few.

MF&Trinity
Trinity and Fun striking a pose!

She was so cute! Faster go watch Rexona's No Sweat Challenge... It's on air now if I'm not wrong!

Apart from that, I had also been watching anime...

rozen
Rozen Maiden so rocked my sox! Love the beautiful costumes! :d

Monster
Monster was intense, deep and the plot just gets better and juicier with every episode!

Gotta admit that Rozen was more fluff than substance but it was good fluff! Monster was really, really, really good. There should be about 74 episodes and I am at episode 47. That's my reason for sleepless nights! Can't wait to get till the end so I know what happens next!

*Gets all excited and wants to go home!*

I had also been suffering from bouts of stomach flu. I was running for the toilet every one hour and wanting to perform an Exorcist moment every few hours. I still have it but hoping it would go away soon because it sucks having to spend 1 hour everyday in the loo, counting tiles...

It's 2.30 and the office is still empty! Fantastic.. and now to move on to my article..

MERDEKA!

*Sinking sensation* I knew I forgot to do something! I was supposed to be wearing something yellow, blue or red to the office today to celebrate Merdeka.. Whoops... I forgot!

Weirdness in words

Listening to: Mika Nakashima - 一色
Feeling: Bored outta my little mind

Totally inspired by Drama and his recent post felt like doing this as well... So here goes..

いち
I always have to shower after coming back from somewhere. Doesn't matter if I am just popping by down the local 7E or a short yamcha; I need to shower. Just need to! Maybe it was a habit picked from my childhood where my mom insists! Now I just think I am wasting water.

に
I am a picky eater. Contrary to my size, there are many types of food that I just can't stand eating. Example, fish. Just one day I decided I don't like fish, unless they come uncooked or between buns. Weird... I just stopped eating seafood as well. Except for calamari. And I just abruptly stopped eating durians. It's so weird. Many more I cut off my food list. If I go on, this post will last forever.

さん
I love my face. I really do... Seriously do. I get so much products for my face like cosmetics, masks, cleansers, creams and my recently acquired La Mer cream is like my lifeline now. I love my face to death. Can't say the same for the rest of my body.

よん
I hate branded fashion items. I love cheap cheap shit that I use until its dirty death in my overflowing dusbin. I still love my Crocs no matter what you guys say!!! Sticks and stone might break my bones but my Crocs will never leave me!!!!

ご
Like Drama, I have the freaking attention span of a freaking goldfish. I also have the memory of a floppy disc *not alot* therefore my planner is my love of my life. I can walk over to the Xerox machine for something and end up coming back to my desk with something completely different. I also like a thousand and one things and have that thousand and one things all crammed in my room, collecting dust. Not proud of it but I'll live...

ろく
I always think that I was reincarnated into the wrong body and country. I should have been a Japanese but there was some computer glitch in that big system up there and I ended up in Malaysia where I sweat like a fucking pig and is forever constrained to this... Sigh Big guy up there... hear me out. I wanna be a Japanese in my next life. Thanks..

Thanks Drama, inspire me somemore!!!

An Obituary

Listening to: James Morrison - The pieces don't fit here anymore
Feeling: Benganged!

Just got sad news from Cher. Louisa, a former college of mine, her brother had just committed suicide today and now the family is trying to look for Louisa as she had shifted out of the family home a year or two back due to differences and arguments with her family.

I don't understand how things can be that bad and it makes me feel helpless when situations like that happens.

So if anyone of you guys out there knows a Louisa who is living with her boyfriend Irwan please do let me know so I can contact her as her family is still trying to locate her.

And as for Lou's bro, rest in peace.

Happy

Listening to: Teriyaki Boyz - Be in Tokyo
Feeling: Sleepy and contented

Happiness is when you realize that your A/C is working again after 3 sweltering hot nights sans this household essential.

Happiness is also when you discover that mom bought your favorite meatballs by the dozen.

Smelling lavender shower gel while snuggling under covers is heavenly.

I am happy when I walk down to the kitchen in the morning and discover mom cooked breakfast. Double happiness is when she cooks my favorite stewed noodles.

Watching Howl's Moving Castle send tingles to my toes and I feel happy.

Sleeping till late makes me happy too~

I love the weekends!

Hips don't lie

Listening to: Aaliyah - Are you that somebody?
Feeling: Extremely sleepy and lazy. I don't wanna do my work!

Yes it's true that the hips don't lie. I scarfed down a whole tube of Chipsmore hazelnut chocolate chips cookies and a whole pack of Cheezels while rolling around in my bed watching 24 yesterday. I'm so heavy now that I am sinking down to the deep dark depths of hell where people are injected with calories to eternally torture them...

OK, I am just being delirious...

And I am paranoid that I am taking on the shade of toast on the 5th setting i.e. burnt

I have one more article due and I am feeling so frigging lazyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

Life is...

Listening to: The sound of silence and a/c
Feeling: Amazed

You know, I've grown up in a lower-middle class family and we never had too much cash to spare. Poor? Sometimes... Happy? When we are not too worried about the big M (Not McDonald's idiots)

To us, money is used to buy essentials like food, clothes (when they are too freaking stretched to the point of no return), books (no story books mind you, the textbook kind) and the occasional treat.

So can you imagine the shock I had to deal with when I saw this?

what the

Dude, to be totally honest, I am freaking out here. One of those boxes could hold us (my whole family) up for a whole month. Like one commented, 'That's a whole lot of Hermes in one house'. No shit Sherlock.. I suspect even a celeb couldn't afford that much...

No offense to Exofex *check out her blog for more scary pictures of overindulgence* I just couldn't comprehend the amount of money that she must have. It's scary. Please tell me how can people get so freaking rich? I wish she could donate one, just one of those bags to me so I can clear off my credit card bill, my car loan for the month and get me my passport. Sigh... Maybe then I can smoke Malboros again. Donations anyone?

Unfair!

What the...

Listening to: Asian Kungfu Generation - Rewrite
Feeling: Blah

I was reading yesterday's newspaper while having my late lunch today and my eyes fell on a short article about how PAS doesn't like having kongsi raya celebrations. Well for those who don't know, kongsi raya occurs when the Hari Raya and Chinese New Year fall around the same dates.

Apparently, they have nothing with people from other races visiting each other but they don't like to share the kongsi raya. HUH? I really don't understand. Someone please elaborate. It's not like we purposely set the dates for the new years to fall near each other. We have shorter holidays because of that. The Chinese New Year is usually around February while the Hari Raya shifts around according to the calendar (or moon, I'm not sure). I would think that this has been a non issue for the longest time so why are they bringing this up now?

Someone please explain before I pull all my hair out from frustration at their stupidity!!!

*stones*
